Full Moon Weekend!

This weekend marks the return of Flagler Beach's ORIGINAL full moon party. Come out and get your howl on with live music by High Energy! It's a "big fun" weekend at the Lion. Besides our Full Moon Luau Party, we also have live music Friday night by Neverending Drama and Saturday afternoon music from Rob Peck. Rob will be providing the entertainment for the Flagler County Parrothead Club.

We are happy to say our expansion project is on schedule to be finished in Mid March as planned.



Thanks to the readers of Backstage Pass Magazine for voting us Favorite Restaurant Atmosphere in the magazine's 12th Annual Florida's Favorite Awards. Our resident mixologist, Mark Woods (aka TikiTender), also received the vote as Favorite Bartender for an impressive 4th time.

You and your guests are invited to our "Ocean Giants" Art Opening Reception on Friday, February 18th, 6:00 - 8:00 PM

at the Ocean Publishing Gallery & Retail Store, 200 S. Oceanshore Blvd., Flagler Beach.

Artist Rick Cannizzaro will reveal his latest collection of colorful paintings in Ocean Publishing's ongoing series of art shows. "Ocean Giants" features Rick's unique look at a variety of whales, including blues, humpbacks, orcas, and rights. His original works and prints will be on display, along with Ocean Publishing's newest release

Explore the Southeast National Marine Sanctuaries with Jean-Michel Cousteau.

A portion of sales will be donated to the non-profit Marineland Right Whale Project to help sustain its valuable research work.

Refreshments and live music will be provided during the Reception.

Mackenzie Grein Scholarship Benefit

We're inviting the public to come and join a great cause in raising money for the Mackenzie Grein Scholarship on Monday, March 7th, 2011. Friends, family and the general public are encouraged to drop by and show support for the event celebrating a vibrant, warm-hearted young life lost one year ago March 7th.

T-shirts commemorating the event will be on sale for $10.00 with 100% of funding raised going directly to the scholarship in her name. In addition, further donations will also be accepted on behalf of the Shannon Grein Scholarship.

Wings Over Flagler









This fantastic event is coming up on March 26th-27th right here in Flagler County. In its second year, this show is put on by one of our customers. Bill "Pirate" Mills, a retired Navy pilot, runs Blue Sky Yakrobatics.
This will be a super show and a great family day opportunity. Advance tickets will be available beginning February 20 at $5 for adults, $3 for ages 13-17. Kids under 12 get in free (must be accompanied by an adult). The price is right peeps! As an added bonus, meet the pilots at the Golden Lion on Friday March 25th!


It's Whale Season! Every year about this time, we see the North Atlantic Right Whales begin to appear off our coast. It is calving season, and they return here every year. Soon you will see scores of whale watchers along A1A with spyglasses and cell phones in hand! For more information visit The Marineland Right Whale Survey Project.
